Benefits of Massage
Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress-related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. Massage is an effective tool for managing this stress, which translates into:
- Decreased anxiety.
- Enhanced sleep quality.
- Greater energy.
- Improved concentration.
- Increased circulation.
- Reduced fatigue.
Swedish Massage
A Swedish Massage is a standard, basic relaxation massage. Swedish massage uses five styles of long, flowing strokes to massage. The five basic strokes are effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber) and vibration/shaking. Swedish massage has shown to be helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness, and improving function.
- 30 minutes – $39
- 60 minutes – $59
- 90 minutes – $89
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a massage that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.
Some of the same strokes are used as in Swedish massage, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.
- 30 minutes – $39
- 60 minutes – $59
- 90 minutes – $89
Hot Stone Massage
Heated stone massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones, either as an extension of their own hands, or by placing them on the body while they massage other parts of the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly.
- 60 minute – $69
- 90 minute – $99
Reflexology
Beneficial by itself or as an add-on to any of our other massages, reflexology induces an intense state of relaxation, reduces stress, boosts the immune system, increases circulation and removes toxins.
Six Point Acupressure
Acupressure uses trigger points to release tension, increase circulation, and encourage the immune system. Acupuncture and acupressure use the same healing pressure points, but acupuncture employs needles, I don’t. I do employ gentle but firm finger pressure that are attached to common shoulder and back issues calming tension.
